Kate admitted that while she anticipated the demands of having a newborn, the actual experience surpassed her expectations in terms of difficulty.
Reflecting on her journey, Kate shared, “I was not prepared for it. It is so much different than I expected, so much more difficult.” Despite her love for challenges, she acknowledged the immense workload that comes with being a new mom. Kate recalled interactions with other mothers who juggled multiple responsibilities and now realizes the magnitude of their efforts, expressing newfound respect for their roles.

Despite the continuous demands of motherhood, Kate has acquired valuable insights during the past nine months. She recently showcased a clever parenting hack in an Instagram video that was both ingenious and humorous.
The video featured Sullivan Cay seated in a small ball pit placed in the living room. As Kate approached her son, a familiar cracking sound grew louder. The caption revealed the reason behind the noise: “It’s important that children learn to solve problems. It’s also important that I have 10 minutes of free time. So I taped his toys down. I guess this makes us both problem solvers.”
Encouraging her son, Kate remarked in the video, “You’re doing a good job.”

Sullivan Cay was born on May 5, 2023, approximately five months after Kate’s pregnancy announcement. During a BravoCon 2023 panel, the former chief stew shared that Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy played a pivotal role in motivating her to embrace motherhood.
Kate expressed, “I told Madison this backstage, but this is so true. She’s the reason I had my son. I found out I was pregnant, and I was like ‘What am I gonna do?’ I saw her on Instagram with her son, and I saw that mother-and-son relationship, and I was like ‘I can do this.’ She inspired me.”
