February 3, 2024

It is a rare occurrence for parental rules to be deemed “cool,” but an exception must be made in this case. A TikToker recently raised the query, “What was the most impressive rule your parents enforced during your upbringing?” The video response to this question has gone viral due to the exceptional nature of the reply.

Ayah, known on TikTok as @this.is.ayah_, engaged in a stitch with the original video to share a story from her teenage years in response to the question.

During the video, she recounted, “When I was in high school, my sister and I were always informed that we should never resort to lying or sneaking out of the house. If we wished to attend a party, we simply informed our parents. They would then drop us off and pick us up, regardless of the hour – be it 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock in the morning.”

She went on to reveal an additional aspect of this rule that elevated its coolness factor even further.

“As we grew older, if we chose to go to a party with friends and encountered any issues requiring us to be picked up, we could call them, and my dad would unhesitatingly come to get us, irrespective of the time. No inquiries made,” she explained.

The level of love, trust, and mutual respect within Ayah’s family during her formative years must have been remarkable to uphold such a rule. Ultimately, this rule ensured that the children always had the assurance that their parents would safeguard them, regardless of the circumstances – a fundamental aspect of parenting.

In the comments section, individuals lauded Ayah’s parents for their incredibly cool yet wise rule.

One commenter noted, “This approach allows children to seek assistance from you whenever they make mistakes instead of facing consequences,” to which Ayah concurred, stating, “Absolutely.”

Another individual shared, “My Mom had a similar rule. Among my friends, I was the only one who truthfully informed my Mom about my whereabouts.” This observation highlights the emphasis on honesty that rules like these promote.

Such rules are commendable, and it would be beneficial for more parents to consider implementing similar guidelines.
