Enhancing Family Bonds: Innovative Parenting Series Promotes Stronger Connections

February 8, 2024

Embarking on the promotion of his upcoming Connected Parenting workshop series, which commences on Thursday, February 15, required Adam Quandt to step out of his comfort zone. However, those familiar with Quandt’s work are not surprised by this new endeavor. As a member of the Antilles School faculty, Quandt has integrated the practice of non-violent communication into his teaching for several years, focusing on the social and emotional growth of his students.

For Quandt, this initiative is a culmination of his life’s dedication. With 24 years of parenting experience and a background in education, he has continuously strived for personal growth, mindfulness, and cultivating joy and ease in his life.

Connected Parenting aims to share Quandt’s insights with participants, offering them the opportunity to enhance their self-empathy, gain insights into their children’s developmental stages, and explore new avenues of connection with them.

While delving into mindfulness and intention may seem daunting for newcomers, Quandt emphasizes the importance of introspection and personal growth in parenting. The workshops are designed to encourage individuals to reflect on their aspirations and extend them outward, fostering a deeper connection with their children.

Quandt stresses the significance of acknowledging and understanding one’s emotional needs, a practice often overlooked in today’s fast-paced world. By facilitating a deeper understanding and connection with one’s child, the workshops aim to initiate positive transformations within families.

Initiating change, Quandt acknowledges, can be uncomfortable. Stepping into a new role and offering this workshop series required him to confront his own apprehensions. However, by setting an example of self-care, self-awareness, and a willingness to evolve, parents can inspire profound positive changes within their families.

The first of the Connected Parenting Classes will commence on February 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Antilles School library, with subsequent sessions scheduled for Thursdays. For more information, visit the link provided or contact [email protected].
