Balancing Motherhood, Acting, and Eco-Friendly Ventures: Hilary Swank’s Multitasking Journey

February 28, 2024

Swank has disclosed that she is taking on increased responsibilities in her professional life, acknowledging that the nights can be challenging. Despite this, she remains optimistic about the future.

Expressing her thoughts to People at the premiere of her new film, “Ordinary Angels,” Swank mentioned the difficulties of being a mother of twins and the struggle with sleepless nights. She highlighted the trade-off between one child sleeping through the night while the other doesn’t.

The 49-year-old actress recognizes that the challenges will change as her daughter and son, born in April 2023 to her and husband Philip Schneider, grow older. Recently, she unveiled her children’s names on Instagram and shared their first images in a promotional post as she embarks on a new role with US babycare brand HealthyBaby.

Swank emphasized that the current phase is temporary and that she cherishes the moments with her children, knowing that there will come a time when she will long to hold them again.

Hilary Swank, accompanied by her twins Ohm and Aya, has assumed the position of chief innovation officer at HealthyBaby alongside the brand’s Founder, Shazi Visram, as depicted in an image by Chris Sojka for HealthyBaby.

In a significant career move, the Oscar-winning actress and producer announced two new business ventures within a short span. She founded the sustainable clothing label Mission Statement eight years ago to promote environmentally-friendly clothing. Recently, Mission Statement was acquired by Ecofashion, a platform for sustainable fashion brands, with Swank joining as a design director and brand ambassador.

Working closely with Ecofashion’s founder Marci Zaroff and creative director Nigel Barker, Swank aims to release a series of environmentally-conscious clothing lines annually. The initial collection includes eight styles of simple black dresses and cardigans.

Swank’s vision for Mission Statement aligns with her values of sustainability and ethical fashion practices. She envisions the partnership with Ecofashion to amplify the brand’s ethos on a global scale, fostering a shift towards sustainable fashion production.

Swank is committed to promoting eco-friendly baby care products in her work as chief innovation officer of HealthyBaby. The brand offers organic cotton diapers, microbiome-friendly skincare, and prenatal/postnatal vitamins, emphasizing sustainability and health.

Swank’s commitment to conscious consumerism extends beyond her professional endeavors, advocating for mindful purchasing decisions and endorsing the reuse of items rather than following the disposable culture prevalent in Hollywood.
