Enhance Your Parenting Expertise with Beth Dunn, MS, LPC

In conjunction with Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD) and Beth Dunn, MS, LPC, MATFORCE is presenting three classes tailored to aid parents, caregivers, and individuals interacting with children.

The inaugural session, titled “Fostering Resilience Through Regulation and Relationship,” draws upon the framework established by Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Development©. Participants will delve into the intricacies of human brain development, the critical nature of early developmental stages, and their correlation with enduring regulatory capabilities. Scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024, this initial class will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The subsequent class, “Decoding Feelings with the ‘ABC’s’,” equips parents and caregivers with the ‘4+1’ framework: an exploration of the fundamental emotions, their interplay with anger, the purpose of emotions, and techniques for emotional management. Attendees will investigate how proficient emotional management contributes to averting substance abuse, mitigating the adverse effects of social media, combating depression and anxiety, and addressing issues like tardiness and school absenteeism. This session is slated for Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The final installment, “Navigating Depression and Anxiety in Children,” will delve into the roots of these conditions and furnish strategies for parents and caregivers to impart and implement with their children for managing depression and anxiety. This session is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

All classes will convene at the HUSD office, situated at 6411 N. Robert Road, in the Vista Room, Building Room 457, Prescott Valley. To secure a spot, reach out to Lisa for registration at (928) 759-5104 or [email protected].
