Chris Bumstead is on the brink of becoming a father, a moment eagerly anticipated by the fitness community. Despite being 29 years old and having navigated through a demanding phase in his career last year, the renowned bodybuilder, Mr. Olympia, remains dedicated to his fitness regimen. The impending arrival of their child has been a topic of discussion on the couple’s social media platforms, although they have chosen to maintain certain aspects of their journey private. He recently shared his perspective on the importance of allowing babies ample space for optimal adjustment in the future.

Chris Bumstead’s Strategy for Sleep Training

In a candid revelation, Bumstead highlighted that one of his primary focuses in raising his daughter would be sleep training. He elaborated on this approach, emphasizing its role in fostering babies’ natural ability to self-soothe, thereby reducing their reliance on parental intervention as they grow older. He articulated, “When they cry you just leave them alone to cry. So they self-soothe, and then they learn so that they don’t they’re not reliant on you coming to get them every time they cry.”

Expanding on this, Bumstead touched upon the societal norms in Western cultures that often emphasize independence from an early age. He expressed his intention to provide his child, in partnership with Courtney, with consistent space for emotional expression without immediate intervention. He remarked, “We live in a Western society that enforces way too much like independence and like no social culture community. So instead what I feel like I want to do with Courtney is giving the baby space and infant space consistently just to feel whatever emotion they’re in.” Despite his palpable excitement for his forthcoming daughter, Bumstead humorously revealed one trait he hopes she won’t inherit.
