Tameka Foster is discussing her co-parenting dynamic with Usher.
The 53-year-old mother of five shared insights with PEOPLE prior to the debut of her new show Bold & Bougie, shedding light on her relationship with ex-husband Usher, 45, as they co-parent their sons Usher V, 16, and Naviyd, 15.
Foster expressed positivity about their situation, stating, “It’s great. Yeah, everything is great. We’re friends and the kids are at an age now where they can kind of express their preferences like, ‘Hey, I want to be at Dad’s. I want to go to Mom’s.’”
She emphasized their open-door policy with the boys, allowing them the freedom to choose where they spend their time. Foster noted that everything is running smoothly in this regard.
In a previous interview in November, Usher shared how discovering that one of their children had Type 1 diabetes had a profound impact on their relationship.
He described the challenges they faced, mentioning the adjustments they had to make to ensure their child’s well-being due to the condition’s demands for insulin management.
