Laurence Fox responded strongly to his ex-wife Billie Piper’s recent admission that she struggles significantly with co-parenting with him. The 45-year-old controversial broadcaster and actor, who was previously married to Billie, 41, from 2007 to 2016, vehemently rejected her statements as “outright lies.”
In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter), Fox expressed his stance: “I refuse to remain silent in the face of blatant falsehoods. The truth is that not all marriages endure, and life is far from flawless. However, I vehemently dispute the claim that co-parenting with me is exceptionally challenging. My priority has always been to ensure our boys have access to their mother, and I genuinely desire nothing but a stable family life for her, a pursuit that seems to continuously elude her.”
He further asserted, “Throughout these past years, my sole focus has been on actively participating in our children’s lives and fulfilling my role as a caring father. While I acknowledge my imperfections, I have consistently strived to prioritize the well-being of our kids.”
Fox also alleged that Billie had initiated legal proceedings against him “more than a dozen times” following their separation. He stated, “Over the nearly ten years since our divorce, my ex-wife has dragged me to court on numerous occasions… She has even involved social services. Her objective has always been and remains to deprive our children of a present father figure.”
Regarding the current custody arrangement, Fox clarified, “The children have continued, as they have since our divorce, to split their time equally between both parents.”
The rift between Laurence and Billie arose when Billie discussed the challenges of co-parenting their two sons, Winston, 16, and Eugene, 11, post-separation. In an interview with Britain’s Vogue magazine, she candidly admitted, “It’s incredibly challenging. I maintain strict routines with the children to provide stability and consistency. My primary concern is safeguarding the privacy and individuality of my children, allowing them to carve out their own identities.”
Billie, who also shares a five-year-old daughter, Tallullah, with former partner Johnny Lloyd, acknowledged that navigating the complexities with Laurence has taught her resilience but acknowledged the ongoing struggles. She reflected, “I strive to shield myself from external opinions, but it’s an arduous task. While I avoid reading about it, the topic remains a focal point of discussion. At times, I have to firmly request others not to involve me in such conversations.”
The challenging circumstances have, however, fostered personal growth for Billie. She remarked, “I have discovered newfound strength through these trials. I’ve realized my resilience in the face of adversity. It has been a tough lesson in understanding that one can only control their own actions and reactions. It’s undeniably challenging.”
