A young child has set a remarkable world record by becoming the youngest individual to reach Everest base camp, achieving this feat at the tender age of two. Carter Dallas, accompanied by his parents on a year-long Asian expedition, reached the south site in Nepal, situated at an impressive altitude of 17,598 feet, on October 25, 2023.

The journey was completed with Carter being carried on his father Ross’s back, while his mother Jade also joined them on this extraordinary adventure. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, the Dallas family embarked on their Asian voyage as reported by the DailyMail.

Ross, a former senior sales manager, shared with a British tabloid, “Carter coped better than me and his mom. We both experienced slight altitude sickness, but he remained perfectly fine! Medical professionals at the villages before the base camp conducted tests on Carter’s blood, which showed remarkable results, surpassing our own. We were truly amazed!”

“We made spontaneous preparations by purchasing food, jackets, and two sleeping bags for the trek. Within just 24 hours of landing in Kathmandu, we set off on the journey.”

The proud father emphasized the family’s readiness for the expedition, having regularly practiced breathing techniques and subjected themselves to cold ice baths. While the parents wore their regular trainers, little Carter was securely fastened to his father’s back throughout the trek.

Prior to Carter’s achievement, the record was held by Zara Šifra, who reached the base camp at the age of four, according to Radio Prague International.

Ross and Jade, who rented out their residence in Scotland, embarked on their journey with a one-way ticket in August 2023. Their travels took them through India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Nepal, Malaysia, and various other destinations, enriching Carter’s exposure to diverse cultures.
